Preventative Health Care
BRAVECTO FULL RANGE FOR DOGS AVAILABLE IN OUR CLINIC!
Your pet relies on you to keep them healthy. Preventative healthcare is one of the most important investments you can make, helping to protect them from preventable diseases and ensuring they enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Worming
FIRST THREE MONTHS OF LIFE:
Puppies and kittens should be wormed every two weeks beginning at two weeks of age then every month until 3 months of age followed by every three months ongoing.
ONGOING:
Dogs and cats should be wormed every three months "when the seasons change".
The common roundworm and hydatid tapeworm are both contagious to humans.
Never feed your pets raw liver!
You can purchase worming tablets over the counter at our clinic by our friendly nurses!
Heartworm
Preventative medication is recommended, particularly for dogs travelling or moving to Northern NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory or WA.
Preventatives include a monthly chew or annual injection which can be given with your dog's annual vaccination booster.
Heartworm is transmitted exclusively through the bite of an infected mosquito, which carries the larvae from one host to another.
Fleas
Flea control is necessary only when your pet has fleas - Bravecto chewable tablets (beef flavoured!) are the best for your pet and they also come in a spot on form if your pet struggles to take chews / tablets.
Treats fleas for 3 months
Controls paralysis tick for 4 months
Controls mites - demodex, sarcoptes and ear mites
